Tension  as Politicians Disrupted During Church Thanksgiving

There was tension yesterday (Sunday) in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State as angry youths reportedly disrupted a thanksgiving church service attended by several prominent politicians.

According to eyewitness reports, the youths stormed the church premises and chased away some political leaders who had gathered for the thanksgiving service. The situation quickly turned chaotic as worshippers fled for safety.

In the process, properties within the church environment were allegedly damaged and scattered while the politicians were forced to leave the venue.

The incident happened in Vandeikya, the hometown of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, making the development more sensitive amid the ongoing political tensions in the state.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from security agencies regarding arrests or injuries connected to the incident. Community members are calling for calm and urging political actors to avoid bringing political conflicts into places of worship.
