Kingibe: I Don’t Even Know Her Number, I’m Not The Man Who Pretends, I Don’t Pretend–Wike

According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, March 2, 2026, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that Senator Ireti Kingibe will not return to represent the Federal Capital Territory in the National Assembly.

He made this known while speaking during a media chat with journalists in Abuja, where he addressed issues relating to political representation in the territory.

Wike said the senator would not secure another term, insisting that her performance in office does not justify a return to the Senate.

According to him, the lawmaker has not demonstrated the level of accountability and public service delivery expected from someone occupying such a position.

He maintained that representation must be measured by visible impact and tangible contributions to the people of the Federal Capital Territory.

The minister stated that public officials must be ready to account for their stewardship and show evidence of what they have accomplished while in office.

Wike also responded to allegations credited to the senator that she had made efforts to contact him but that her calls were not answered.

He dismissed the claim and said he had no knowledge of such attempts, stressing that he does not engage in pretense or political drama.

The minister emphasized that leadership requires transparency and measurable performance, adding that both elected representatives and appointed officials should be ready to present their records to the public.

He said, “I don’t even know her number. I’m not the man who pretends. I don’t pretend, and I know I don’t pretend. I told you, mark it today. today is what? Second of March. Look, you know my report card will show. Your report card should also show. What did you do as a senator when you were?
