Nyesom Wike Speaks on Fubara’s Future and his Relationship with him

Minister for the federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike during his media parley today, commented on his relationship with governor Siminalayi Fubara following their reconciliation.

While speaking, Nyesom Wike blamed the media for the political crisis in Rivers, claiming that the media takes delight in such circumstances. According to him, the media fuel the Rivers state crisis and “do not want it to stop”.

The former governor of Rivers state however declared that the political crisis in Rivers has likely come to an end. He explained that leadership entails making compromises–give and take. Nyesom Wike declared that at his own end, he believes the crisis will not resurface; insinuating that working terms has been agreed by the parties.

This has come to Rivers state as far as I am concerned. You know, what thing with leadership is being able to swallow certain things–it is being able to say give and take. Because one can not always be right. And from what I have seen, I don’t think there is any cause for alarm. Except if you are telling me something that I do not know”.

This comes amid uncertainty over governor Sim Fubara’s political future. One wonders if his claims of his reaching compromise with Fubara also covers the governor’s reelection ambition.
