US, Six Arab Nations Condemn Iran’s Retaliatory Strikes As “Reckless, Dangerous Escalation”
Iran carried out the attacks in response to unprovoked strikes by Israel and the United States, which killed its top leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America have issued a joint statement strongly condemning the missile and drone attacks carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran carried out the attacks in response to unprovoked strikes by Israel and the United States, which killed its top leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In a statement addressing Iran’s retaliatory strikes, the United States and its allies condemned the actions as “indiscriminate and reckless,” noting that they targeted sovereign territories across the region, including Bahrain, Iraq, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The joint statement noted that “these unjustified strikes targeted sovereign territories, endangered civilians, and caused damage to civilian infrastructure.”
The statement described Iran’s actions as “a dangerous escalation that violates the sovereignty of multiple states and threatens regional stability.” It further emphasized that “targeting civilians and non-belligerent states is reckless behavior that undermines stability.”
The signatories affirmed their commitment to protecting their populations and territories, stating,
“We stand united in defense of our citizens, our sovereignty, and our territories, and we reaffirm our right to self-defense in the face of these attacks.”
The statement also highlighted cooperation in air and missile defense, noting, “We underscore our commitment to regional security, and we commend the effective cooperation in the field of air and missile defense that prevented greater loss of life and destruction.”
Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that the Kuwait Ministry of Defence confirmed multiple American warplanes crashed on Monday morning, with the circumstances of the incidents still under investigation.
The ministry said all crew members aboard the aircraft were successfully rescued.
The crashes came amid escalating tensions after U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran, hitting Tehran and other cities and killing top leaders, including Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran launched waves of missiles and drones at American military bases across the Gulf region.
These strikes were deliberate. The U.S. maintains troops and equipment in countries such as Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE, and Iran targeted those bases to demonstrate its ability to reach American forces anywhere in the Middle East.
In Bahrain, explosions were reported near the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama. Kuwait’s Al Salem Air Base, Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. base in the region, and Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE were also hit.
The attacks sparked panic across the Gulf, with smoke rising over cities and alarms sounding at U.S. facilities.
