“I Wish I Had Known” – woman Regrets Dumping Her Broke Ex-Boyfriend After He Achieved Financial Success

A Nigerian lady has shared her deep regrets about leaving her ex-boyfriend years ago, primarily because he lacked financial stability during their relationship.

According to her, she ended things with the young man simply because he wasn’t financially buoyant, even though he was incredibly generous with whatever little he had. If he had ₦5,000, for instance, he would happily give her ₦4,000 of it without hesitation.

He truly loved and cared for her, showing affection through his actions and sacrifices, but she felt she deserved more materially and believed she could find someone better off. Convinced that love alone wasn’t enough, she decided to break up with him.

She went on to advise women not to blindly follow the popular advice of “never settle for less” or listen to those who pressure them to leave good men over money issues.

Narrating her experience, she revealed that after the breakup, her own life has never been the same again, she has faced repeated strvggles, disappointments, and instability. In contrast, the man she left has since become financially successful and stable.

She now deeply wishes she had stayed by his side, recognizing his genuine love and potential in hindsight, and regrets prioritizing short-term finances over a loyal partner.
