Malami Reached Out to Me over his Detention, Made a Request–Sowore Reveals
Advocate for good governance, Omoleye Sowore has disclosed that embattled former attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami reached out to him over his detention in Kuje prison.
Omoleye while speaking to newsmen yesterday, claimed that Abubakar Malami sent some persons to him and his lawyer to request their assistance in securing his release.
According to Omoleye Sowore, Abubakar Malami suddenly realizes that he (Sowore) and his group are the most credible people.
Malami sent people to me and my lawyer to come and bail him out of Kuje prison. He suddenly found out that we are the most credible people”, he stated.
Sowore also commented on Nasir El-rufai being detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) amid report of his bleeding from his nose while in detention. He suggested that the former governor of Kaduna State may also be considering reaching out to him for his assistance.
According to Sowore, the former governor of Kaduna State should be given a good doctor that will treat his bleeding nose or be taking to Kaduna state to a hospital he built during his governorship administration for his medical care
“I am sure El-rufai must have been looking for a way now to reach out because all these shouting about bleeding of nose, is to get sympathy. I am not saying that his nose is not bleeding and I call on the government to stop his nose from bleeding–they must give him good doctors or take him to Kaduna to go to the hospital he built to stop the bleeding”.
Sowore thereafter stated that both Nasir El-rufai and Abubakar Malami are being given a taste of their own medicine, claiming that they Nasir El-rufai and Abubakar Malami are part of the Nigeria’s political leadership problems responsible for the country’s age-long poor leadership.
He advised those in leadership positions to be mindful of their actions while they are in power, noting that those in power today will likely find themselves in prison
