The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that the political future of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, could be at risk if the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) fails to secure victory in Abuja in a major election.
In a statement made available to journalists, Ayodele said Wike’s continued stay in office is closely tied to the electoral performance of the APC in the nation’s capital. According to him, losing Abuja would have serious implications for the minister.
“If APC loses Abuja, Wike loses his job and they will change him. If he loses Abuja, they will change him. The people of Abuja are angry with him,” Ayodele said.
The cleric explained that there is mounting dissatisfaction among residents of the Federal Capital Territory, warning that such anger could translate into votes against the ruling party if not urgently addressed.
Ayodele claimed that many residents feel uncomfortable with some of the policies and reforms introduced under Wike’s leadership in the FCT. While acknowledging that development projects are ongoing, he insisted that public perception remains a critical factor in politics.
According to him, Abuja is too important politically for the APC to ignore the mood of its electorate. He described the FCT as a symbolic and strategic territory whose electoral outcome sends a strong message nationwide.
The prophet further advised the ruling party to take proactive steps to reconcile aggrieved stakeholders and engage more with residents to rebuild trust. He stressed that political power is sustained not only through projects but also through goodwill and public acceptance.
Ayodele, known for his frequent prophecies on political matters, maintained that the APC leadership must not underestimate the level of dissatisfaction among voters in the capital. He warned that internal party dynamics and public sentiment could combine to produce unexpected outcomes.
