Ingrate! I Paid ₦2M For His Film – Olasco Films Blasts Okunnu, Austin Emmanuel
According to Ireporter Online, veteran movie marketer Akeem Olatunji Balogun, popularly known as Olasco Films, has labeled Nollywood actors Wale Akoredu, popularly called Okunnu, and Austin Emmanuel as ungrateful following allegations leveled against him by the duo.
Balogun made the remarks during an interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf, responding to claims made by Okunnu and Emmanuel in separate interviews.
Okunnu had earlier accused Balogun of misappropriating all proceeds from a movie produced for him approximately 16 years ago, stating, “I haven’t forgiven Olasco.” Meanwhile, Emmanuel alleged that Olasco Films, alongside associate Toymax Films, had blacklisted him from the industry and also accused Toymax of being involved with his former girlfriend, Aisha Raji.

In response, Balogun dismissed the allegations, insisting that he supported both actors at pivotal stages of their careers. He revealed that he provided Okunnu with ₦2 million to produce the film, noting that production costs at the time ranged between ₦700,000 and ₦1 million.
Describing Okunnu metaphorically, Balogun said, “Okunnu is like a blind man using a walking stick, and when he regained his sight, he threw away the walking stick that was guiding him when he was blind. That’s who he is for him to say he worked for me without pay.”
He also emphasized his role in Emmanuel’s rise, stating, “Austin Emmanuel wants to trend with my name. I assisted him to advertise the very movie that made him famous in my films, so he’s an ingrate.”
