PDP House of Representatives Aspirant, Otunba Desmond Awoyo Slams Governor Aiyedatiwa Over ‘Lack of Project Commissioning

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and House of Representatives aspirant for Owo and ose federal constituency and the current PDP Youth spokesman in southwest, Otunba Desmond Awoyo also known as ODA, has launched a scathing criticism of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, accusing his administration of lacking tangible developmental milestones nearly two years into office.

Awoyo expressed
disappointment over what he described as ceremonial tours without substance, alleging that recent visits to local government areas across the state did not culminate in the commissioning of any new project.

He argued that governance must go beyond inspections and speeches, insisting that the people of Ondo State deserve visible, measurable development rather than media optics.

He further criticized the state government for celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ondo State without inaugurating any landmark project to commemorate the golden jubilee, describing the moment as a missed opportunity to showcase progress and inspire confidence among citizens.

The PDP aspirant also alleged that some of the projects currently being highlighted by the administration were substantially executed up to 65 percent completed under the late former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

He maintained that while continuity in governance is commendable, transparency demands that proper credit be given where appropriate.

Awoyo urged the governor to prioritize accelerated project delivery, improved infrastructure, and economic empowerment initiatives across the state, emphasizing that residents are yearning for governance that directly impacts their daily lives.

His remarks come amid growing political tension in the state as stakeholders begin positioning ahead of future elections, with development performance likely to remain central in the unfolding political discourse
