Owo Leadership Commends Omowumi Isaac’s Performance, Dissociates from Critics.

The leadership of Owo Local Government has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Ondo State Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac, describing her as a symbol of integrity, competence, and impactful leadership.

This was contained In a strong show of solidarity statement released to Newsmen in which, the Executive Council, Legislative Council, Supervisory Councillors, and Special Advisers of the local government distanced themselves from what they described as politically motivated attempts by a few individuals to tarnish the image of the Commissioner.

 

The council emphasized that such actions do not reflect the views of the people of Owo, who continue to benefit from Mrs. Isaac’s people focused initiatives and her outstanding performance in managing the state’s finances under the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

OWO LOCAL GOVERNMENT PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON THE ONDO STATE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR FINANCE, MRS. OMOWUMI ISAAC

The Executive Council, Legislative Council, Supervisory Councilors, and Special Advisers of Owo Local Government have been inundated with calls from critical stakeholders and community leaders, as well as teeming youths and residents, expressing serious concerns over an ongoing attempt by certain individuals within our great party, at the local government level, championing a single agenda to blackmail the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Omowumi Isaac.

We are astonished by this development, as it stands as a fundamental betrayal towards the cause of promoting the progress of Owo by a few individuals who do not represent or express the overall interest of the people of Owo Local Government.

It is also alarming that, despite the consistent and visible contributions of the Honorable Commissioner to our collective progress and being a worthy ambassador of Owo local government in the present administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, these individuals have made it a duty to selfishly bastardize the reputation of Mrs. Omowumi Isaac.

Consequently, as the leaders and representatives of the people of Owo Local Government, we expressly and categorically dissociate ourselves from these ill-intentioned and evil plans, as we strongly believe that our people are not party to destabilizing the political goodwill Owo local government is presently enjoying in the current political dispensation in Ondo State.

In light of the foregoing and following the solidarity walk staged in support of the Honorable Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Isaac Omowumi, by thousands of indigene and residents across the 11 wards of Owo Local Government in the early hours of Sunday, February 1, 2026, we make the following resolutions;

1. That Owo Local Government notes with strong satisfaction the outstanding performance of the Ondo State Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac. Being the first female Commissioner for Finance in Ondo State, her competence and commitment have continued to strengthen financial management and good governance in Ondo State.

2. That the Council acknowledges the consistent prudence, accountability, and transparency with which Mrs. Isaac has discharged her duties as Commissioner for Finance, a performance that has earned her public commendation from His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on several occasions.

3. That beyond her statutory responsibilities at the state level, the Honourable Commissioner has made direct and meaningful contributions to the development and welfare of Owo Local Government, including the employmeny of over 50 women under her monthly payroll as community sanitation workers to improve environmental cleanliness and promote economic empowerment individuals.

4. That the Council further commends her for the ongoing drilling of 40 solar-powered boreholes in 40 markets across Owo Local Government.

5. That Owo Local Government also recognizes the consistent welfare support extended by Mrs. Omowumi Isaac to residents of the Local Government, which reflects her people-oriented approach and her commitment to inclusive development.

6. That the Council categorically states that recent attempts to cast aspersions on the person and office of the Honourable Commissioner do not represent the views or position of the leadership or people of Owo Local Government, and are inconsistent with the overwhelming goodwill enjoyed by the Governor and his administration in Owo.

7. That Owo Local Government hereby unanimously passes a vote of confidence on Mrs. Omowumi Isaac, and affirm its full trust in her integrity, capacity, and continued service as Ondo State Honourable Commissioner for Finance.

8. That the Council reaffirms its strong support for the administration of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and pledges its cooperation in advancing policies and programmes that promote accountability, good governance, and sustainable development across Ondo State.

9. That leadership must be judged by impact, service, and integrity, and by these standards, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac has earned our confidence.

10. That this resolution be made public for the information of the general public and all relevant stakeholders.
