NANS Philippines Zone Inc. Engages, Honours CEO of Pineleaf Estate & Properties, Seeks Collaboration on Welfare of Nigerian Students in Philippines/Diaspora

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Philippines Zone Inc., *has formally honoured Archbishop Dr. Onyeka Joseph Nzekwesi (Chinakaibeya), Chief Executive Officer of Pineleaf Estate & Properties Ltd., in recognition of his contributions and potential support toward the welfare of Nigerian students in the Philippines* and the broader diaspora.
*The honouring ceremony, held at his country home – Eziowelle in Anambra State Nigeria* brought together the President & representative of student leaders/ promoters.
During the event, NANS leadership emphasized the urgent *need for strategic partnerships to address the challenges faced by Nigerian students abroad, including financial hardship, accommodation difficulties, repatriation project of indigent/stranded Nigerian students* in Philippines and other welfare-related issues.
Rev. Comr Okoye Chikelue Christian, President of NANS Philippines Zone Inc., *expressed appreciation for Dr. Nzekwesi’s consistent commitment to community development, human resource capacity empowerment and called for collaborative interventions* that would positively impact the lives of Nigerian students abroad. *“Our goal is to establish sustainable structures of support that ensure Nigerian students in the diaspora can study and live with dignity, while having access to resources and opportunities* that ease their challenges,” he said.
*Archbishop Dr. Onyeka Joseph Nzekwesi, in his response, acknowledged the role of NANS in championing student welfare and pledged to explore meaningful collaboration with the association. He highlighted the importance of mentorship, capacity building, and infrastructural support as key areas where Pineleaf Estate & Properties could contribute toward improving the living and academic conditions of Nigerian students* abroad.
The event underscored a growing synergy between Nigerian diaspora leaders, corporate stakeholders, and student organizations, aiming to create holistic solutions for the welfare and well-being of Nigerian students in the Philippines and other parts of the world. Both parties expressed commitment to sustained engagement, promising joint initiatives that prioritize education, accommodation, and socio-economic support for Nigerian students abroad.
