Why President Tinubu Will Not Support Fubara Nor Oppose His Impeachment

Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose states that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not shield governor Sim Fubara from the ongoing impeachment threat against him by the members of the Rivers state House of Assembly.

Fayose made the statement when he appeared on Channels Tv politics today on Friday, 9th of January. According to him, the president will not order the Rivers state House of Assembly members to discontinue the impeachment proceeding against Siminalayi Fubara because the governor committed an offence the president detests.

He said governor Sim Fubara is guilty of ingratitude to his political benefactor, Nyesom Wike; an act the president as a political godfather, detests and would want the governor to learn his lessons.

Governor Ayodele Fayose cited his impeachment as governor of Ekiti state as a reference, stating that before he was impeached, he suffered from bloated ego and lack of self awareness which resulted in his disregarding powerful political leaders in his state who then instigated his impeachment. He added that at his return as governor of Ekiti state, he applied the lessons he learnt during his impeachment. Hence, he states that governor Sim Fubara will unavoidably face the consequences of his actions as the president will not shield him from it.

Fayose thereafter stated that governor Sim Fubara can only escape from the ongoing impeachment proceeding against through divine intervention. He urged the governor to consider resorting to God in prayers and fasting for God’s intervention as that is the only means capable of changing the outcome of what has been planned against him.

“Many prayers would be said to save Fubara. So many fasts and prayers would be the only thing that would save Fubara in this one.

“My prayer is that God will enter his mind. The President will help calm him down, to remind the danger. One will be in his house before he realises (the danger).

It is reported that governor Sim Fubara is currently in France to meet president Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the ongoing renewed confrontation against his administration by former governor Nyesom Wike and his loyalists in the state’s house of assembly.
