YEAR 2026: HOPE IN THE HORIZON- DIAMOND GROUP NIGERIA

Diamond Group Nigeria (DGN) congratulates Nigerians as we usher in year 2026, a year the Group envisages to be filled with hopes about the rebound of the economy.

Last year, in her New Year’s message to the nation, the Group had hoped that the storms would blow over, and to God be the glory, that hope and earnest prayer were heard by the Almighty God.

Year 2026 is replete with hopes, as the sacrifices of the past years, seem set to begin to bear fruits. The economic data are headed in the right direction through thoughtful policies of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

The Group enjoins the Federal Government to work harder and ensure that the favourable macro-economic indices trickle down as tangible deliverables and benefits to Nigerians.

The Group urges the government to sustain its onslaught against terrorism and all forms of insecurity ravaging the country. In this, while collaboration with foreign partners may be necessary to overcome the protracted menace, sight must not be lost of the need to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.

Diamond Group Nigeria implores the other tiers of government, namely the states and local governments, to double their efforts and ensure that the increased revenues accruing to them are used to benefit the people.

The Group condemns in strong terms, the terrorist attack on Ipele community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on 31st December, 2025 and demands that concerned authorities should spare no effort to bring the perpetrators to book. Owo, an ancient town in Ondo State, should not be allowed to become a refuge for terrorists, bandits and all forms of outlaws.

The Group reiterates that multi-layer policing remains the best security arrangement for a federation like Nigeria. Other effective security measures that will decisively deal a death blow to the menace of insecurity in Nigeria should be implemented for the peace and security of all.

Diamond Group Nigeria prays that the hope of economic rebound, improved security and welfare in 2026 will materialise and the longed-after prosperity will be all inclusive and beneficial to all Nigerians.

Toyyib Musa-Omoloja
