Akure Media Scene Rocked as Woman Alleges Emotional Abuse, Confinement by Popular On-Air Personality
A woman has come forward with grave allegations against a widely known broadcast personality based in Akure, Ondo State, accusing him of emotional abuse, intimidation, and abandonment following what she described as a long-term relationship.
According to the woman, the relationship, which she claims lasted approximately four years, was largely long-distance.
She alleged that she travelled from Akwa Ibom State to Ondo State on December 16, following a personal invitation from the broadcaster.
She further claimed that upon arrival, the encounter deteriorated rapidly, describing the individual as “deceptive and heartless,” and alleging that she was subjected to intimidation, threats, and unlawful confinement within his residence.
The woman stated that after the incident, she left the premises in distress and allegedly found herself stranded in Ore, Ondo State, without support or access to assistance.
She added that all communication channels with the broadcaster were subsequently blocked, including direct phone calls, even as her family reportedly attempted to reach him.
In her account, she accused the broadcaster of presenting a public image inconsistent with his private conduct, asserting that while he may command public admiration, his actions behind closed doors tell a different story.
She further stated that she decided to make her account public out of fear and a need for accountability, stressing that should any harm come to her, the broadcaster in question should be held responsible.
As of the time of filing this report, the broadcaster has not responded to these allegations.
Efforts to reach him for comments were unsuccessful.
