Customs seize N2.28bn undeclared foreign currency at Lagos Airport

The Nigeria Customs Service intercepted €651,505 and $800,575 (over N2.28bn) from an Austrian passenger at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The suspect, attempting to board a flight to Dubai without declaring the funds, was handed over to the EFCC for investigation.

The seizure underscores Customs’ commitment to curbing financial crimes and enforcing anti-money laundering laws.
