PDP chairman, former Governors and party leaders visit Obasanjo over 2027 election
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gathered at former President Olusegun Obasanjoโs residence in Abeokuta on Saturday, 13 December 2025. National Chairman Taminu Turaki arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library penthouse around 11:30 a.m., accompanied by former governors Muโazu Babangida Aliyu (Niger State) and Jonah Jang (Plateau State), as well as other senior PDP figures .
The meeting was held behind closed doors, and the agenda has not been made public. It comes amid a period of internal turmoil within the PDP, with the party wrestling over recent expulsions and legal battles .
The encounter is being widely reported, with several outlets publishing photos of the delegation entering Obasanjoโs home
