……..for Attending PDP Convention Against Instructions

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has relieved two of his political aides of their duties after they attended the recent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, allegedly in defiance of his directives.
The affected officials are Joseph Jacob Ikpak, the former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Services, and Felix Ekuri, who previously served as the Special Assistant on Neighbourhood Watch.
According to government sources, both aides were dismissed after they were spotted at the PDP convention, an event Governor Eno had reportedly instructed his team to stay away from in order to maintain neutrality and avoid political distractions at a sensitive time for the administration.
Their removal was confirmed through an official statement conveying the governor’s approval of their disengagement. While no additional details were provided, the decision has stirred conversations within political circles in the state, especially as the PDP continues to navigate internal alignments ahead of upcoming political activities.
Observers note that the move signals Governor Eno’s effort to maintain strict internal discipline and assert control over his political structure. It also reflects the growing tension within the party as various power blocs position themselves for influence.
More updates are expected as the situation develops and reactions emerge from stakeholders within the Akwa Ibom political landscape.
