Gunmen Kill Police Inspector, Other Security Operatives During Ambush In Nasarawa
It was gathered that the victims included a police inspector, identified as Christopher Enoh, and two vigilante members, Mathew John and Augustine Yusuf, all from Agbashi town.
Suspected armed robbers on Wednesday ambushed a security patrol team along the Idadu–Agbashi road in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing three security operatives.
It was gathered that the victims included a police inspector, identified as Christopher Enoh, and two vigilante members, Mathew John and Augustine Yusuf, all from Agbashi town.
According to a source and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, a source revealed that the team was on a routine patrol when the gunmen opened fire on them, resulting in the instant deaths of the three personnel.
“The attackers also stole an AK-47 rifle with 30 rounds of ammunition belonging to the late inspector before escaping from the scene,” the source stated.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Agbashi General Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, security operatives have intensified efforts to apprehend the attackers and recover the stolen firearm, according to the source.
