Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria Warns Against Foreign Interference, Cautions Opposition Over Anti-Tinubu Campaigns
The Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON), a coalition of prominent youth organizations across the country, held a press conference on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in Abuja, to address pressing national issues and rising political tensions.
Speaking on behalf of the group, ELFON President, Hon. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel, condemned recent calls for military invasion of Nigeria by former U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing Nigeria’s sovereignty and urging dialogue instead.
The Forum also issued strong warnings to opposition figures allegedly plotting digital and political campaigns aimed at destabilizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 elections.

Gentlemen of the Press
We the emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria comprising of the leaderships of Eminent Youth bodies such as Arewa Youth Movement, Ohaneze Youth Federation, Oduduwa Youth Parliament, National Association of Nigerian Students, Niger Delta Youth Front, Middle Belt Youth Forum, etc are here today to address the world on some top national issues as it concerns our dear country Nigeria.
You are all aware of the recent call for military invasion on Nigeria by President Donald Trump of America.
As Opinion moulders and part of the leadership of our dear country Nigeria, we make bold to state that having noted President Donald Trump’s concerns, we advice that he follows the path of dialogue and respect for the sovereignty of Nigeria if he actually intends to assist us in combating insecurity.
We want to state that we are against any form of military invasion on our country. We urge President Donald Trump to liase with our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on best ways he can support our Nigerian Military in the fight against terrorism, banditry and every other social vices.
We understand the role assigned to the United States by the United Nations Convention on Counter-terrorism, but then Nigeria is a sovereign nation and we can deal with our problems our style.
Some members opposed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been noted to be mobilizing Digital campaigns Against Tinubu’s key political henchmen ahead of 2027 elections.
Reliable intelligence has reportedly emerged detailing a late-night meeting at a hotel in Abuja, involving seven prominent leaders of a major opposition party and representatives of a new group known as Generation Nigeria. The agenda, sources allegedly centered on strategies to undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s prospects for re-election in 2027.
Key resolutions from the meeting allegedly included plans to target major influential political frontiers of President Tinubu for reputational attacks, public distractions and intensified character assassination. These actions from our well detailed investigations are aimed at weakening the administration’s foundation ahead of the election.
One of the opposition leaders who is said to have participated in the meeting, reportedly identified the ongoing call by President Trump as significant issues that could hinder Tinubu’s re-election bid as he emphasized the need to “distract and socially discredit” key allies of the President to create vulnerabilities.
Among those major political die-hards of President Tinubu allegedly targeted are the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh, the Minister of State Defence, Bello Matawalle.
Others reportedly discussed as targets for possible public name smearing and character assassination include National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Former Governor of Borno state, Senator Ali Modu Sherrif, former Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and former Governor of Delta state, James Ibori. These individuals are described as “key lieutenants” seen as pivotal to President Tinubu’s potential re-election efforts.
As Emerging Leaders of our dear Nation -Nigeria, we want to warn that it is not yet time for politics and every attempt to distract Our President, Bola Tinubu from governance in any guise whatsoever will be met with stiff restrictions by majority of us, the Citizens.
Opposition leaders and their link men even within the President Bola Tinubu’s led government fanning ambers of discord to destabilize our Nation for their selfish political reasons are by the National Press Conference warned to refrain from their planned mobilization for a demonstration scheduled to hold this month, else we will begin to call them out as persons of security concern.
Again we want to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to create Youth directorate for all the regional development Commissions to boast Youth development drive in the geopolitical zones of our country.
All hands must be be on deck for a better Nigeria irrespective of our tribes, positions, regions or religious beliefs.
Security agencies must prosecute sponsors of terrorism and Banditry in Nigeria now.
