Kebbi Governor Idris Attends Burial Of Nigerian Customs Officer Killed By Lakurawa Terrorists

The Nigerian government has kept mute on the killing of a Nigerian Customs Service officer, identified as Sadiq Muhammed, by suspected Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi State.

Muhammed was reportedly shot dead overnight when the terrorists launched an attack on a checkpoint near Maje, a community in Bagudo Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State attended the officer’s funeral on Sunday, paying his respects alongside top government officials, security chiefs, and community leaders.

Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that armed terrorists believed to be from the Lakurawa group launched a deadly attack on a camp belonging to officers of the Nigeria Customs Service in Maje, a community in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

According to local sources, the assailants arrived in large numbers and opened fire indiscriminately on the camp, killing one Customs officer on the spot before setting the facility ablaze.

“The terrorists came in numbers and started shooting sporadically. Everyone ran for safety,” one resident told SaharaReporters.
