‘My lecturer has refused to let me graduate, says I must sleep with him’: Student makes a public plea to the Minister of Education
A video is making the rounds online where a female student said that her lecturer has refused to let her graduate because she refused to sleep with him.
In the clip making the rounds online, the female student identified as Shalon Okechukwu Oyinyechi said she is studying at Captain Elechi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.
Narrating her story further, the female student claimed that her physical chemistry lecturer, Mr Remi Okah, said he had to have her canal knowledge before she could graduate.
The female student uttered that because of this lecturer, she has written a carryover course for two years now, and they said her academic year has come to an end, and she would have to start again.
She revealed that the ordeal has left her in tears and constant prayers to God over the past two years. Despite her struggles, she made a heartfelt appeal to the Minister of Education, Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, and the Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma to intervene and help her finally graduate from the institution.
In her words; “I Shalon Okechukwu Oyinyechi, is calling out to the minster of education for Nigeria and commissioner of education here in River state. Mr Remi Okah a lecturer of Physical Chemistry in Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic has refused to allow me graduate bcus I refused to sl**p with him and I’ve written a carry over course for two years now and they said my academic year is over and I should go and start again…. I’ve cried and prayed to God but plsss I need Help.”

The above video has generated mixed reactions online, while some prayed for her for a breakthrough, others tackled her over the way she dressed in the video, while she was narrating her ordeal.

iamhoriz 7 commented, “Well done for speaking up, but this video isn’t appropriate for such a serious issue. You can’t report a sensitive case with a playful or “cruise” attitude, especially when you’re calling out powerful people. The lecturer or his associates could even use this video against you, saying things like, “She’s fond of this… always making TikTok videos.” I just hope you have solid evidence, because posting such a video for a serious report is risky.”

princexherself reacted; “Mr Lewis from school of business studies, delta state polytechnic otefe oghara almost made me gave up on my studies during my OND days, he didn’t do it alone, he made his colleagues that are his friends give me E in all their courses because i refused sleeping with him, this same princess that people used to keep sit for during exams because of her level of intelligence always got an E in his course and that of his colleagues that happens to take other courses in the department… he actually taught me a lesson as promised for my stubbornness according to him… i really wish more students will call out their ev!l lecturers that’s making their lives a living hell and almost ending their academic life… it is well!”
