Forgery Scandal Hits Tinubu’s Cabinet As Court Grants Hon. Ogah Leave To Pursue Case Against Minister

A new controversy has emerged within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet as the Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted leave to Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, the Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, to apply for an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate and possibly prosecute the Minister of State for Labour and Employment over alleged forgery of election documents used during the 2023 House of Representatives elections.

In its ruling, the court acknowledged that Hon. Ogah’s request fell within INEC’s constitutional powers to investigate and prosecute electoral offences, including allegations of document falsification.

The leave granted gives the lawmaker the legal right to pursue the matter formally before the electoral body.
