Husband Beats Wife To Stupor Over Family Planning Disagreement In Abuja

Charity Olotu Fasasi, a mother of four, almost lost her life after she was beaten to stupor by her husband, David Fasasi Azeez, over a disagreement on family planning methods.

The incident, which occurred on Friday night in Adefemi Ushafa, in the Bwari Area Council, left Charity lying helpless in the Ushafa Community Health Centre.

According to an eyewitness, the victim was left in a pool of blood while her husband fled the scene.

Charity was later taken to the Ushafa Community Health Centre, where she was hospitalized for days before regaining consciousness.

It was gathered that the problem started when the family planning method adopted by the victim failed, and she became pregnant again. Her husband, David Fasasi Azeez, became angry and gave her N5,000 to undergo an abortion, which resulted in heavy bleeding.

The situation escalated when the husband started blaming Charity for carrying out the abortion and became violent towards her.

After severely beating her, he left her in a pool of blood. The eyewitness told AIT that it was the neighbors who intervened and rushed her to the hospital for medical care.

The husband is currently on the run.

When contacted, the FCT Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the matter, as there was no response to messages or calls.
