Most Donations are ‘eye service’- Shehu Sani Reacts to Remi Tinubu’s N20bn Library Donations
Former lawmaker Shehu Sani said the billions donated to First Lady Remi Tinubu for the National Library came from people in power showing eye service.
He noted she was “lucky,” recalling that Turai Yar’adua faced disappointment when donors failed to redeem pledges for her cancer centre after President Yar’adua’s death.
The post reads, “First lady Senator Remi is lucky to raise N20 billion for the National Library that has been abandoned for close to 40 years.
“That is commendable and well appreciated. Her Excellency Hajiya Turai Yar’adua was not that lucky; Many people who pledged to donate billions to her International Cancer Center refused to redeem their pledge after Yar’adua died.
“The project remained stalled for over a decade along Airport Road, Abuja.
Most Donations are ‘eye service’ for people in power. Our First lady should make sure they ‘send alert as quick as possible’. Happy Birthday to the Distinguished First Lady”.
