A former Council Chairman in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Honourable Oluwole Folahanmi has called on the general public to inform and remind all and sundries that there is no pending criminal matter in any court involving Him or any other individual in relation to the unfortunate death of the late Chief Tunde Ilori .
According to him, he noted that, Following the tragic incident of Chief ilori, comprehensive investigations were conducted by multiple high-level security agencies including, The State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Ondo State Command, The Office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 17, Ijapo Estate, Akure and The Office of the Inspector General of Police, Abuja, These investigations were thorough and coordinated with a solid result disconnecting Hon.Folahanmi.
The final conclusion of all investigative reports, most notably the legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ondo State, dated January 26, 2022—clearly stated that there is no evidence linking Hon. Oluwole Folahanmi or any other suspects to the murder of the late Chief Tunde.
In spite of these clear findings, some individuals have continued to spread false and misleading narratives, suggesting that I am is still under investigation or facing trial in connection with the case as seen in a recent post flying on the media space, These claims are false, malicious, and misleading.
In response to the defamatory publications and media trial engineered by uninformed individuals, Hon. Oluwole Folahanmi confirmed that he has taken legal action to protect his reputation.
As a result, Hon oluwole Folahanmi has approached the Ondo state high court in suit number AK/398/2023 to seek redress on defamation of his character by the ill-informed persons who find it attractive to conduct media trial just for the fun of it.
Furthermore, Honourable Folahanmi has filed a fundamental right action in suit number AK/115/CIV/2025 to enforce his fundamental right against abuse by these same set of ill-informed people.
For the umpteenth time, the Inspector General of Police remains in charge of the murder investigation, and no one has been charged to court based on the available evidence.
Therefore, there is no criminal case pending in any court involving Hon. Oluwole Folahanmi, Alamana, or any other individual as it concerns the death of Chief Tunde Ilori.
The public is strongly advised to disregard any press releases, social media publications, or statements suggesting otherwise. Such misinformation not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the justice system.
I remained committed to pursuing justice through lawful means and protecting my name from unfounded allegations and media trials, lastly I want to clearly inform members of public that, there is no any court or police case involving me and other persons afformentined,the only pending cases are the ones I filled on defamation and fundamental Hunan right Hon Folahanmi stated
