They will hate you , once they realize that you are an eagle : They will like to recreate you and make you to think you are a chicken so that you will peck at the ground looking for ants and worms with them, so that you will never know that you are an eagle and always think yourself a chicken. REMAIN AN EAGLE ( at all cost – don’t compromise) Let them hate you, they will always be chickens, and you will always be an eagle. You must fly. You must soar.”
Insist on being treated with honor and respect
I recall a moment in the corporate world some seventeen (17 )years ago, when, during a performance review, a lady who described herself as my supervisor said to me,
“Look Banji, I am your supervisor, I decide your fate – you are not serious.”
My Counterstrike:
My response to her, one I inwardly celebrate to this day, was: “Madam, if we are talking about people that are serious in Nigeria and the world at large, we are the people they are referring to. I drive the highest version of the Mercedes G-Wagon (God’s Class), Live at the most prestigious corridor at Lekki and every Saturdays and Sundays, I and some of the most celebrated, powerful and successful people in Nigeria will be on our horses at Ikoyi.
But you drive a Toyota Corolla and live at a two-bedroom flat at VGC – you are the one that is not serious.”
## My Reflection on That Moment
– I stood my ground with a blend of humor and unapologetic confidence.
– I juxtaposed tangible markers of success against her perceived status.
-It was a contrast that spoke volumes about differing trajectories.

My reply flipped the script on who embodies ‘seriousness’.
## Why I’ll Always Recall It
– It showcased my unapologetic self-assurance.
– It was a defining moment of assertive communication.
To this morning, I inwardly celebrate that response.
Memory verse : Proverb 24: 10 “ But if we faint in the day of adversity, our strength is small. On the other hand, we shall reap a reward in due season if we do not faint, and do not grow weary in well doing. Doing well to those who have demonstrated bad intentions toward us takes strength.”
MOMENT OF TRUTH
Know your worth! If you flock with penguins, you will never fly like eagles. “If you’re NOT being treated with love and respect,
Check your “price tag”.
Perhaps you have marked yourself down. Sometimes where you stand determines how people values you in life.  Get off the “clearance rack” and get behind the GLASS where they keep all the “valuables and NEW ARRIVALS.
Once you know your worth, how people values you becomes irrelevant.
