How Major-general Sarham Dealt With Me, Haunted Me While I Was Governor – Nyesom Wike
Former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike narrated during an interview on Channels Tv how Major-general Sarham Jamil who was the general officer commanding (GOC) 6th Division, Port Harcourt, Rivers State haunted him and his administration as governor of Rivers State.
Nyesom Wike while speaking on Channels Tv on 18th of September claimed that Major-general Sarham Jamil threatened to shoot him de@d in 2015 when he became the governor of Rivers state.
He claimed that Major-general Sarham Jamil was positioned by the administration of Muhammadu Buhari to make life unbearable for him at the outset of his governorship administration.
Wike alleged that Major-general Sarham Jamil who had the backing of the presidency interfered in elections and in the Rivers state governorship election tribunal by presenting evidence against his victory and also threatening the members of his political party and loyalists.
Wike further alleged that Major-general Sarham Jamil held an unnamed colonel in detention facility for several months for his refusing to carryout his order by shooting him, the governor.
Nyesom Wike also alleged Major-general Sarham Jamil was acting under the influence of former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi who was then the minister for transportation.

Wike made this revelation in the face of the ongoing political development in Rivers state, the lifting of the six month suspension placed on governor Sim Fubara by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He claimed that those who are criticizing the administration of president Bola Ahmed, alleging abuse of power, are doing so because they are ignorant of the excesses of Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and the manner he abused his presidential power.
The former governor of Rivers State also expressed his profound appreciation to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his intervention in Rivers state crisis and for the manner he restored peace in Rivers state. He stated that he will also give his full support to governor Sim Fubara to ensure the smooth running of his government.
