Joe Echegini completed the comeback for the Falcons two minutes from regulation time as the midfielder slotted home Okoronkwo’s free kick to help Nigeria seal its 10th WAFCON title.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons completed a remarkable comeback to beat host nation Morocco 3-2 in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final to win their record-extending African title on Saturday.

The Falcons found themselves behind just 12 minutes into the match after Ghizlane Chebbak capitalised on a defensive error from Nigeria before latching a powerful shot into the net to put Morocco ahead.

The host nation surprisingly doubled the lead six minutes before the half-hour mark through Sanaa Mssoudy’s low shot past Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Nigeria’s resurgence began in the 64th minute when Esther Okoronkwo put one back for the Falcons from the penalty spot before assisting Folashade Ijamilusi seven minutes later to level the game.
