Born in Oye Ekiti, Barr Ayeni has emerged as a shining example of intellectual depth, global relevance, and ethical leadership. With a remarkable academic and professional track record, he exemplifies the University of Ilorin’s ideals of scholarship, service, and integrity.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY: A PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE

Barrister Ayeni’s academic foundation was laid at the University of Ilorin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, setting the stage for a lifelong commitment to understanding society and advancing social justice.

Driven by a hunger for knowledge and global relevance, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Edinburgh Napier University Scotland, where he deepened his expertise in people management and organizational development.

His legal journey commenced at the University of East London, where he obtained his LLB in Law, and was further strengthened by an LLM in International Law from Robert Gordon University Scotland, a top ranking institution known for its professional and research based legal training.

Most recently, he achieved an outstanding academic milestone, completing a Doctor of Philosophy PhD in Law, specializing in Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law, also from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen Scotland. His doctoral work reflects his passion for constitutional democracy, governance, and the rule of law.

He is also a proud graduate of the Royal Docks School of Law and a Chartered Arbitrator of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Arbitrators CIArb UK, marking him as an authority in dispute resolution and arbitration.

LEGAL PRACTICE AND PUBLIC SERVICE

Barrister Ayeni is the Principal Counsel at YAA Law Consult, a thriving law firm based in Abuja with a practice reach that extends to the United Kingdom. His legal career spans litigation, human rights advocacy, arbitration, and corporate law. He has represented high profile clients and contributed to numerous landmark legal reforms.

In addition to his legal exploits, he is a well known public speaker, policy advocate, and mentor to many young lawyers and professionals across Nigeria and the diaspora.

His impact and service to humanity have not gone unnoticed. In February 2025, Barrister Ayeni was honoured with the Vice Chancellor’s Meritorious Award by the Federal University Oye Ekiti FUOYE for his exemplary leadership, scholarship, and commitment to youth empowerment.
