5 Setbacks That Must Not Set You Back

5 Setbacks That Must Not Set You Back
1.FAILURE👎
Failure usually is accompanied with trauma. It could be academic failure or failure in a venture. Failure can make you feel inadequate❌😫😔😢😕
Failure more than anything else if not properly managed can lead to stress and heightened cortisol levels and some people suffer clinical depression. Psychiatrists and clinical psychologists opine that failure more than any other factors is responsible for drug addiction, risky lifestyle and criminality.
The way out:
See failure as a process, a learning curve. Failure is not final. Failure is actually not the opposite of success but an integral part of success. Don’t let failure knock you down! Never give up before failure but try again and again and use failure as fuel pump to keep on keeping on. Donald Trump lost the presidency in 2020 and suffered impeachment, criminal litigations and disgrace but bounced back and reclaimed the presidency in 2024. It’s not over until you win.
2. BETRAYAL
Betrayal can set you back if not well managed. Jesus of Nazareth was betrayed by his close disciple Judas Iscariot. Julius Caesar was betrayed by his buddy Brutus. Thomas Sankara was overthrown and assassinated by his best friend Blaise Compaore. Betrayal usually comes from close quarters. This is a red flag. It’s not disingenuous for you to stop believing in “friends.”
The way out;
You don’t have entitlement syndrome. You don’t demand loyalty from anyone, rather you do your best and be your best. You are everything to you. You owe it to yourself to be excellent in everything you do. You prepare yourself for betrayal and if it happens as it will from time to time, just shrug it off and don’t let it weigh you down. See your kitchen cabinet, close associates and hangers on as hustlers, the more you open up to the, the more you code things from them. Spy on them and use sleigh of the hand which is the more you look the less you see, in dealing with them. The world is a place of the cheaters and the cheated ( if you’re not cheating someone, someone is cheating you) and you must not sleep with your two eyes covered.
3. HEARTBREAK.
Heartbreak can cause setbacks. After investing in a relationship or marriage and your partner walks away you can enter into delirium from the rejection which can cause dejection.
The way out;
Never invest more into a partner than the significant other invests in you. Relationship between two adults must be driven by balance of power. If one partner has the upper hand the relationship will be rigged against the other. Romantic affairs must be symbiotic or there will be suffering and that’ll cause setbacks.
From then on, your love becomes power not weakness.
4. LUCK.
It’s very painful to see less intelligent folks outshine you. This may be by luck but using by corruption, partiality, racism, sexism, tribalism and other parochial factors.You grind, study, network and end up in the backwaters. It’s sad see some lazy clown win with luck, lies, or clout outshine you. It pisses you off. But then it wakes you up:Life isn’t fair. Hard work isn’t enough.
The way out;
Be stoic in the circumstances. If you can’t do anything about it, do nothing about it.
5. BANKRUPTCY.
Becoming broke is traumatic and takes you to the rock bottom of life.
Money gives you choices, power, dignity.
When you’re broke, your “friends,” your lover, your relatives disappear.
You realize poverty exposes you to the vagaries of life.
The way out;
You can be broke but don’t be broken.
