Court set date to Rule on Baptist Pastors’ Bid to Halt Trial over alleged N620m fraud

An FCT High Court will rule on June 2 on a motion by Rev. Israel Akanji and five others seeking to quash a five-count charge of alleged N620m church fund fraud.

The defendants are accused of conspiracy, forgery, and diverting church funds between 2012 and 2021. Defense counsel argued the charges lack merit and proof, while the prosecution failed to file a counter-affidavit.
