YAN Directs States to Mobilise Youths for Peaceful Demonstration in Abuja

The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), through the Office of the National Speaker, has issued an official directive mandating the mobilisation of youth delegates across all states of the federation for a planned peaceful demonstration in Abuja.

 

According to the internal memorandum dated 27 February 2026, each state is required to mobilise 100 disciplined and law-abiding youths, while North Central states are to mobilise 200 participants due to their proximity to the Federal Capital Territory.

 

The demonstration is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 5th March 2026, with delegates expected to arrive a day earlier for proper coordination.

Subject: Mobilisation of Youth Delegates for Peaceful Demonstration in Abuja

Distinguished State Ambassadors and Honourable State Speakers,

Warm greetings from the National Secretariat.

This memorandum serves as an official directive for the mobilisation of youths from your respective states in preparation for an upcoming peaceful demonstration scheduled to take place in Abuja.

In furtherance of this national engagement, each state is hereby required to mobilise one hundred (100) disciplined, responsible, and law-abiding youths to participate effectively in the exercise.

Special Instruction: The North Central states are required to mobilise two hundred (200) responsible members each, due to their proximity to the Federal Capital Territory.

Important Information

1. Arrival Date:
All mobilised delegates are expected to arrive in Abuja on Wednesday, 4th March 2026.

2. Peaceful Demonstration Date:
The peaceful demonstration is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 5th March 2026.

Logistics

Detailed information regarding transportation arrangements and other logistics will be communicated subsequently by the designated National Coordinating Team. All states are kindly advised to await further directives in this regard.

State leadership is enjoined to ensure proper coordination, adequate sensitisation, and strict adherence to discipline among all selected participants, as this engagement is of national importance and must be conducted peacefully, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable laws.
