Boluwatife Balogun popularly called Champz and the son of Nigerian music icon Wizkid has set a new record as the youngest Nigerian artist to reach 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify at just 14 years old.
The rising star hit this milestone shortly after releasing his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival. The five-track project, which blends rap, afro-swing, and Afrobeats, quickly caught listeners’ attention and showcased his strong musical potential.
Only hours after its release, the EP soared to No. 1 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart, making Champz the youngest Nigerian act to achieve the feat.
Though various reports emphasize the Spotify achievement, one thing is clear: Champz’s debut has made a significant impression. His numbers keep climbing, and the young talent is already proving he has what it takes to thrive in the industry drawing inspiration from his father while building his own distinct identity.
