In a recent video on YouTube, Senior pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Joshua Iginla, has stirred laughter and reflection among his congregation after using humor to address the issue of personal hygiene and self-care among men.
During a sermon focused on relationships and personal wellbeing, the Nigerian cleric encouraged men to pay more attention to their appearance while also advising women to support their husbands in maintaining proper grooming habits.
Iginla, known for blending humor with life lessons in his teachings, jokingly described how some men neglect basic personal care. “If some of you brothers now, we ask you to show your leg, some of you it will look like cutlass has cut it,” he said, drawing laughter from members of the congregation.
The prophet urged women who regularly care for their appearance to extend similar attention to their husbands at home. According to him, simple acts of grooming could strengthen relationships and prevent potential misunderstandings.
“When you go and you’re doing your pedicure, why not learn how to do pedicure for your husband and manicure for your husband?” he asked.
He warned that if men seek such services outside the home, it could create unnecessary problems in their marriages.
“Because if you go outside and do it, wahala will come,” Iginla said, using the Nigerian slang for trouble or conflict.
Continuing his humorous remarks, the preacher further described the condition of some men’s feet when proper grooming is ignored.
“If I tell some of you men, open your leg now let us see, you will see the map of Africa to Sahara Desert connected to Iran,” he joked.
Despite the playful tone, Iginla emphasized that women’s dedication to self-care should not be criticized but rather appreciated.
“Women love themselves very much and it is not bad,” he said.
The cleric concluded by encouraging couples to support each other in maintaining good personal hygiene and appearance, describing it as an important aspect of healthy family life and mutual respect in marriage
