Why Lagos is a worst place for young artistes to grow — Odumodublvck

Popular rapper Odumodublvck has described Lagos as the “worst place” for emerging artistes to develop, warning that the city’s competitive environment could turn them into “greedy, selfish, and self-centred beasts.”

The Abuja-based music star said his upbringing outside Nigeria’s commercial capital gave him an advantage in the industry, claiming Lagos breeds a culture that stifles genuine artistry.

“The worst place for a young artist to grow is Lagos. It’s the most selfish place to grow,” he wrote on his X handle.

“You will become them; a greedy, selfish, and self-centred packaged beast. That’s why it was easy to run through the industry as the machine wey I be. I too real for una.”

Odumodublvck, known for his unapologetic style and Abuja roots, said his background helped him maintain authenticity while navigating the Nigerian music scene.
