“I studied Theatre Art at the University of Ibadan. After leaving group, I joined Femi Adebayo at J15. There’s no way I can tell my story without mentioning his name. He played a huge role when Ojopagogo sent us for our industrial training, IT,” he said.

“I already knew Aunty Funke Akindele. I told her I wanted to do IT. So she said I should come to Lagos. This was right after Taiwo Taiwo movie, we were shooting Apadi and uncle Femi went to the late Bukky Osadare, a makeup artist. She told me uncle Femi likes you, can you follow him? I said yes. So I followed Aunty Bukky to him,”

“He said he liked how I work on set. He agreed. I agreed and he asked how much should I pay you monthly. I said I don’t want money. He smiled and said I will give you 5,000 Naira monthly. I accepted.”

Adekunle explained that Adebayo later pushed him to continue his education. “He asked about my qualification. I said I had my SSCE. He asked if my results were good. I said yes. Then he said why don’t you further your education. I replied there is no money but if I can manage I will go back to school. He said apply. I did and I get admission. My first school fee that year was 20,000 Naira. He gave it to me himself. He was using Access bank then.”
