Wale Oke denies supporting Israel over Palestine

Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Wole Oke, has dismissed claims linking him to any pro-Israel stance, insisting that Nigeria’s official position on the Israel–Palestine conflict remains his guiding principle.

Oke clarified that his meeting with the Israeli Ambassador, Michael Freeman, was a formal diplomatic engagement processed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not a personal visit. He said the allegation was a deliberate attempt to misrepresent his official duties and malign his reputation.

Reaffirming his loyalty to Nigeria’s foreign policy, the lawmaker expressed readiness to meet with the Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, noting that the country continues to advocate for a peaceful two-state solution under international law.
