The reward is being offered through the United States Department of State’s Rewards for Justice programme.
The United States government is offering a reward of up to $8million for information leading to the identification or location of Sanaullah Ghafari, also known as Shahab al-Muhajir, the leader of ISIS-K.

The reward is being offered through the United States Department of State’s Rewards for Justice programme.
According to the programme, ISIS’ core leadership appointed Ghafari as the leader of ISIS-K in June 2020. ISIS-K, or Islamic State Khorasan, is designated by the United States as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
An ISIS communiqué announcing his appointment described Ghafari as an experienced military leader and one of the group’s “urban lions” in Kabul.
