US-Based Nigerian Advises Tinubu on How to Respond to Trump’s Military Threat
A Nigerian living in the United States, Baba Adam, has written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as several top government officials and private citizens, urging them to take firm diplomatic measures immediately in response to what he described as an “irrational threat” by U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently threatened military action against Nigeria.
In an email sent on Sunday, Mr. Adam stated that Trump’s comments, which were posted on his Truth Social account on November 1, amounted to “gunboat intimidation” and a violation of international law.
The scholar and activist called on the Nigerian government to take “urgent and decisive action” to protect the nation’s dignity and sovereignty.
“We reject this reckless show of gunboat diplomacy and call for immediate, resolute action to safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty,” said Baba Adam.
