U.S. Lawmaker Riley Moore Reveals Purpose of Meeting With Gov. Caleb Mutfwang Amid VP Speculation
U.S lawmaker and advocate for religious freedom, Riley Moore has announced holding a strategic meeting with the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang of Nigeria.
Rep. Riley Moore through his X account, disclosed that he held an important meeting with Caleb Mutfwang, stating that his conversation with the Plateau State governor was meaningful, fruitful and focused on deepening ties between Nigeria and the United States of America.
Rep. Moor thanked the governor for his commitment to the protection of Christians in the middle Belt region of Nigeria. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to working with the Nigeria government in addressing specifically the persecution of Christians in Nigeria as well as other challenges facing the country.
“It was an honor to meet with the Governor of Plateau State in Nigeria, @CalebMutfwang, yesterday. We had a meaningful and productive conversation about deepening the ties between our two countries”, he stated on his X account.
“I remain committed to working with the Nigerian government in coordination and cooperation to address these security and economic challenges, especially the persecution our Christian brothers and sisters face.
“God bless you, Governor, for what you do to protect Christians and other vulnerable populations in the Middle Belt”.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang meeting with Rep. Riley Moore has sparked another round of speculation over the governor’s political future– governor Caleb Mutfwang is currently rumoured to being considered for vice presidential role in 2027.
Reports suggest that the US government is unhappy over the religious imbalance in the Nigeria’s presidency and insist on president Tinubu, a Muslim, substituting his current Muslim vice with a christian.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, a Christian from the north central region, who made his switch to the ruling party– APC a few weeks ago, has been strongly linked to the VP role.
Hence, governor Caleb Mutfwang meeting with Rep. Riley Moore, a strong ally of president Donald Trump and who led a US delegation to Nigeria late last year to investigate incidence of religious viólence in Nigeria, suggest that the US government might have a special interest in the Plateau State governor
