Two secondary school students have been apprehended inside a phone store after allegedly attempting to obtain an iPhone 17 Pro Max using a fake bank transfer alert.
The incident, which was captured in a video currently circulating on X (formerly Twitter), was narrated by a female eyewitness who was present in the store at the time.
The footage shows the boys, dressed in their school uniforms, being confronted by shop attendants after the transaction was flagged as suspicious.
According to the narration in the video, one of the students presented a fabricated bank transfer notification to the store attendants, a method commonly associated with “fake alert” scams, where altered screenshots are used to falsely indicate successful payment.
“They tried to use a fake transfer alert to collect the phone, but the attendants quickly noticed it wasn’t genuine,” the eyewitness said in the video.
The boys were reportedly detained by the shop staff, with indications that they may have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.
However, as of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by the police to confirm their arrest or provide further details.
