Tragedy as couple pass away in a fatal car accident

Tragedy strikes Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a couple, Alexus Lee and John “JR” Collins, tragically pass away in a fatal car accident.

According to reports, the couple lost their lives in separate car accidents on May 16, 2025.

Reports indicate around 2 a.m., Alexus’ SUV crashed into a culvert and flipped on LA 67; not wearing a seatbelt, and was declared dead at the scene.

After learning of Alexus’ death, JR rushed to the crash site but lost control of his vehicle around 3:45 a.m. on the same road, resulting in fatal injuries after being ejected and striking a tree.

The couple is survived by their 4-year-old son, Gabriel, who is being cared for by both families.

Despite the tragedy, Alexus’ sister Dominique Lee and JR’s mother Sandra Collins have pledged to co-parent Gabriel, providing a stable and loving environment.

However, a joint funeral service was held to honor their memory.
