THE RIDICULOUS ACTIVATES THE MIRACULOUS. – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
John 2:5,7-8 KJV.
“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”
[7] “Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.”
[8] “And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.”
*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ Jesus was invited to attend a wedding ceremony at Cana in Galilee and his mother was there too.
☆☆☆ The disciples of Jesus were equally present.
☆☆☆ The wine got finished and the people wanted more.
☆☆☆ The bible recorded that the mother of Jesus told her son to do something about the situation.
☆☆☆ Jesus responded “woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come” – John 2:4.
☆☆☆ However, because the woman knew what Jesus could do, she now said to the disciples 👇
“whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” – John 2:5.
☆☆☆ Jesus later gave an instruction 👇
“Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim”
[8] “And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it” – John 2:7-8.
☆☆☆ Beloved, it sounded ridiculous when people were asking for more wine and Jesus now asked his disciples to fill, with water, the same pot where wine got finished.
☆☆☆ It was quite ridiculous but that ridiculous instruction activated the miraculous.
☆☆☆ The bible later recorded that the water-turned-wine became the best wine ever.
☆☆☆ Such that when the chairman of the wedding reception tasted the new wine, he said 👇
“And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now” – John 2:10.
☆☆☆ Beloved, what instructions have you received from the Lord!! Obedience is key.
“Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” – John 2:5.
☆☆☆ The instruction may not agree with your common sense but still do it all the same.
☆☆☆ Remember that God himself said 👇
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” – Isaiah 55:8.
☆☆☆ When your challenges seem to be at the peak, that is the time when God is set to intervene.
☆☆☆ Beloved, divine help usually arrives when the heat is so much on you.
☆☆☆ For the bible declared 👇
“And they said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of Jabesh-gilead, To morrow, by that time the sun be hot, ye shall have help. And the messengers came and shewed it to the men of Jabesh; and they were glad” – 1 Samuel 11:9.
☆☆☆ Having read the above verse of the bible, the question that will readily come to mind is: why must the people wait till the sun be hot before help would come?
☆☆☆ Beloved, this is the time most people give up in life, not knowing that their miracle is near.
☆☆☆ If the 3 Hebrews, in Daniel 3:20-25, had given up, we wouldn’t be talking about them today.
☆☆☆ The temptation to give up was so much on them but they took their stand for God and help eventually came.
☆☆☆ I want to conclude this message with a testimony that I heard somewhere. This will really encourage somebody reading this message today 👇
“Mr Luis, we are sending home your children from school, they haven’t paid their school fees and we will not allow them to take the exams”.
Luis began to plead but the principal wouldn’t budge.
Just as he dropped the phone, another call came in, it was from his landlord, he had given him an ultimatum of one week to pay the house rent or he would be forced out of the apartment.
The moment he dropped the phone, a text message also filtered in, a business partner he was owing money was on his way to arrest him.
Luis began to cry *“Jesus I am in trouble, I need you to show up for me, the world is caving in on me, I need your help”.*
Just then he heard a voice so clear as though the person was standing next to him and the voice said *“dance”.* It sounded crazy but Luis was desperate, he would do anything at that moment.
Luis inserted a Christian CD into his CD player and he began to dance. So much joy and peace filled his heart, that he even forgot about all his troubles and just danced before God.
Suddenly, he got a text message, it was a bank alert for ten million Naira. It was the payment of a long time contract he did that the man who gave the contract didn’t want to pay.
It was the moment he started dancing that God decided to touch the man owing him and he paid.
Luis could not believe it, he put on his clothes and rushed to his bank to be sure that he wasn’t dreaming, it was real.
Luis immediately removed his tithe and made three transfers: One to the school, one to the landlord and the last to his business partner.
Luis began to scream in the bank, “thank you Jesus”. People thought he was crazy but he just couldn’t control himself anymore.
☆☆☆ Jesus had saved him from shame.
☆☆☆ Beloved, If you forget anything about God, don’t ever forget that the MIRACULOUS is linked to the RIDICULOUS!
*The ridiculous activates the miraculous.*
☆☆☆ When God wanted to part the red sea for the children of Israel to cross over, he asked Moses to stretch forth the rod he was holding. The red sea parted. Read Exodus 14:16,21.
☆☆☆ When God wanted to bring down the walls of Jericho which were so strong and thick, God asked the children of Israel to shout! And the walls fell. Read Joshua 6:5.
☆☆☆ When Jesus wanted to turn water to wine, he asked the servants, at the marriage feast, to fill the pots with water and serve it! Read John 2:7-8.
☆☆☆ Beloved, the red sea didn’t part because a man stretched out a rod.
☆☆☆ The walls of Jericho didn’t collapse because a group of people shouted.
☆☆☆ Water didn’t turn to wine because they filled the pots with water and served it.
☆☆☆ These miracles happened simply because God gave instructions, those instructions sounded ridiculous though, the people still obeyed and the miraculous was activated.
☆☆☆ Beloved, what instruction has God given you of recent or in the past that you are yet to obey!!
☆☆☆ It may sound ridiculous but your next level of greatness can be tied to that instruction, obey instantly.
☆☆☆ God may tell you to sow a seed, forgive someone, spend time reading your bible, just obey.
*”Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it”* and do it promptly too.
☆☆☆ Somebody may want to ask “how do I hear instructions from God?”
☆☆☆ Don’t be eager to rush out after you have prayed.
☆☆☆ Start your prayer by praising God and end with praises, then wait for God to talk to you.
☆☆☆ Prayer is a dialogue not a monologue, you have said certain things to the hearing of God, therefore wait and allow God to respond.
*PRAYERS*
1. Father, please speak to me concerning the challenges disturbing the peace of my life.
2. Father, give me the grace to carry out your instructions without delay.
3. Oh God my father, let the ridiculous turn to the miraculous for me in Jesus name.
4. My father, my father, don’t let me give up at the peak of my breakthrough in Jesus name.
5. Father, you are the miracle working God, let me enjoy miracles unprecedented and testimonies without number in Jesus name.
6. Lord Jesus, step into my situation and let my life become sweet again in Jesus name.
7. Father, turn whatever represents sorrow in my life to bundles of joy in Jesus name.
8. As I journey through life, I refuse to be unfortunate in Jesus name.
9. I will not miss my time of divine intervention in Jesus name.
10. All this will end in praises and I will surely testify.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
I pray for somebody this day, may you listen and carry out promptly divine instructions concerning your life in Jesus name.
I pray for a particular individual out there, you are eager to hear from God. May you begin to hear from God today in Jesus name.
I pray for another fellow, may you not disobey God’s instructions at the point of your breakthrough in Jesus mighty name.
Receive the grace to obey God and to obey him fully in Jesus name.
I prophesy, at the peak of your crisis, the Lord shall step in with a miracle to settle you in Jesus name.
To a particular couple out there, reading this prayer message, I decree, the Lord shall supply every wine that your marriage needs to be sweet again in Jesus name.
I decree and declare, the miracle worker himself shall perform a miracle in your life today that will shock and silence your mockers permanently in Jesus name.
Jesus will step into your situation today and your heart desires shall be granted in Jesus mighty name.
There is a miracle waiting to manifest in your life.
God is set to replace your insults with beautiful results of great testimonies in Jesus name.
