Sheikh Gumi Names Those He Alleges Are Responsible for Seif al-Islam Gaddafi’s Kîlling

Controversial Islamic Nigerian cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has made suggestions on the likely kîllers of Seif al-Islam, son of late Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, who before his death was widely perceived as the heir to his father.

Reports say the 53 year old who until his death lived quietly, away from public attention, was assassinàtted by four gunmen in his home located in Zintan, western part of Libya.

Before his death, Seif al-Islam was targeted by warrant of arrest from International Criminal Court over alleged crime against humanity even though he remained a strong voice in the Libyan politics. He resonated with the vast majority of Libyans desirous of good governance akin to pre-2011 under Muammar Gaddafi, his father’s reign.

Seif al-Islam in 2021 declared his presidential ambition which garnered so much interest among the Libyan nationals; however, following the indefinite postponement of the election, Seif al-Islam withdrew from the public, living quietly in a manner that made it surprising to many that he was living in Zintan when he was kîlled.

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi who appears to be a supporter of Seif al-Islam, through his Facebook page, pointed out possible groups that are responsible for Seif al-Islam’s death.

Sheikh Gumi who didn’t rule out other possibilities, suggested that Seif al-Islam might have been kîlled by his political rivals in Libya in view of his rising popularity and political ideology of uniting Libya and restoring Libyan-focused government akin to his late father’s, Muammar Gaddafi.

Sheikh Gumi also suggested that it is most likely that foreign commando assássins might be responsible for Seif al-Islam’s death. He claims that Seif al-Islam’s popularity among the Libyans and his political ideology of uniting Libyans do not resonate with foreign powers in Africa who have vested interest in the oil rich country.

“Who killed the son of Gaddafi? We can so far only presume. However, there are not too many possibilities. One of these is the political rivals. Second, clandestine foreign commando assassins. The modus operandi suggests the latter.
