Security forces rescue SSG’s relatives, arrest five suspects

Security forces in Zamfara State have rescued three abducted relatives of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Mohammed Abubakar Nakwada, and arrested five suspects in connection with the crime.

The victims — Sadiya Nakwada, Aisha Nakwada, and Abubakar Dan Fulani — were freed on Tuesday during a coordinated operation by the Zamfara State Police Command’s tactical teams and the Force Intelligence Department’s Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS) from Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Police authorities identified the arrested suspects as Hamza Umar, Abubakar Abdullahi, Aisha Umar, Mohammed Ibrahim, and Igeh Mohammed — all residents of the Mareri area in Damba District, Gusau Local Government Area.

The victims, who were abducted on July 27, were taken to a hospital in Gusau for medical attention and will be reunited with their family after treatment.

The Zamfara State Police Command said investigations are ongoing and assured that all those involved in the kidnapping will be brought to justice.
