Controversial Nigerian clergyman, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje or Indaboski Bahose, has once again stirred reactions online following a new statement about marriage, relationships, and conception.
In a recent sermon that has gone viral on social media, Prophet Odumeje claimed that it is impossible for a man to impregnate his wife within the first month of marriage, saying the process of conception in marriage requires a period of spiritual and emotional alignment between the couple.
According to him, “It’s impossible to impregnate a woman within one month in marriage. The man will have to do the family work for at least three months. It’s only in a relationship that a woman can easily get pregnant even in one day because the devil works hard to put you in trouble during that period.”
The self-acclaimed “Liquid Metal” went further to suggest that spiritual forces play a major role in how quickly conception happens, adding that the devil is often more active in immoral relationships, which is why pregnancy can occur “by mistake” outside wedlock.
Odumeje’s statement has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. While some of his followers supported his spiritual interpretation, others dismissed it as “unscientific” and “controversial.” Critics argued that pregnancy depends on biology, not marriage status, emphasizing that conception can occur any time during a woman’s fertile window whether married or not.
This is not the first time Prophet Odumeje has made controversial remarks. Known for his theatrical preaching style and dramatic expressions, he has built a reputation for delivering sermons that blend humor, spirituality, and bold claims that often go viral online.
