Professor Isa Pantami Breaks Silence Amid US Military Air Strike In Nigeria
Former Nigerian minister for Digital Economy and Islamic scholar, professor Isa Pantami has for the first time since the US military air strikes on terrórists’ hideouts in Sokoto state, issued a public statement.
Since the outbreak of the news of US military bómbing of terrorists’ hideouts in Jabo village in Tambuwal local government of Sokoto state and other locations within the state, Reliant.ng as well as concerned Nigerians, have sought to know the opinion of professor Isa Pantami on such a remarkable indelible development with potential implication on Nigeria’s sovereignty; however, the professor appears unwilling to comment on the matter.
Instead, the former minister of digital economy, issued a public statement about tragic road accident which happened along Damaturu–Maiduguri highway, reportedly leading to the death of seven, ignoring calls for him to comment on the US Air strikes in Niger on 25th of December, 2025.
Many Nigerians took to his comment section to implore him to state his stance on the US joint military operation in collaboration with the Nigerian government against banditry and terrorism.
His silence on the matter has been linked to his governorship ambition in 2027. Isa Pantami has shown interest in becoming the governor of Gombe state and has begun moves to actualize his ambition in 2027. Hence, the former minister is wary of making any comment on US military operation in Nigeria as he finds it delicate and capable of impacting his political ambition.
Professor Isa Pantami does not want to please his core Muslim north by opposing the United States of America nor President Bola Ahmed Tinubu due to his political ambition and for fear of being given the Abubakar Malami’s treatment who is currently languishing in detention facility. He also would not support the US government military intervention in Nigeria so as not to lose the support of his Northern Muslim followers especially as their majority see the US military operation as anti-Islam.
