Police Detain Peter Obi’s Supporter ‘Mama P’ in Edo
The Edo State Police Command has taken into custody the well-known activist Precious Oruche, who is also referred to as Mama P.
Mama P, a dedicated advocate for Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, was detained at the Edo State Police Criminal Investigation Department in Benin.
The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, revealed this information through a post on X made on Saturday.
He stated, “Mama P has been detained at the state CID located at Edo State Police Headquarters on Sapele Road in Benin City.”
I just spoke with our legal director to arrange for lawyers to assist her. We encourage more people to join in helping her. Lawyers and everyone involved should act promptly. Your support is urgently needed now!
This development comes in the wake of reports and counter-reports regarding a confrontation between Mama P and Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party.
