Police Bust Kidnapping Gang, Arrest Six Suspects, Recover AK-47 Rifles
The police thereafter arrested six suspects and recovered four guns including three fabricated AK-47s rifles.
The Nigeria Police Force, Kaduna State Command has said that its operatives busted a notorious kidnapping syndicate operating in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Mansir Hassan, who made this known in a statement said the operation followed a distress report by a resident of Ungwan Ninzom in Jagindi Tasha village, whose son, Hussaini Ibrahim, was abducted by armed men.
The police spokesperson said operatives from the Kafanchan Division swiftly responded to the incident, launching a coordinated manhunt.
“On 24th February, in a follow-up operation, the victim, Hussaini Ibrahim, was rescued from a nearby bush with a gunshot wound on his leg,” Hassan said.
“He was rushed to a nearby clinic for medical attention and reunited with his family.”
He said four suspects identified as 30-year-old Umar Yusuf Jabiri of Jagindi Tasha, 31-year-old Buhari Muhammad, a.k.a. General of Bayya village, 51-year-old Ahmadu Nasiru of Gidan Waya, and 50-year-old Zakari Saleh, also of Gidan Waya, were initially arrested in connection with the abduction.
Hassan said police operatives recovered one English-type AK-47 rifle and three locally fabricated versions from the suspects.
He added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend remaining gang members, after which the suspects will face prosecution.
In a separate operation, he said operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led by CSP Sani Zuntu intercepted a suspicious waybill on July 23, 2025, around 6:00 p.m. in Kaduna.
The consignment, which originated from Jos and was destined for Gusau, Zamfara State, concealed a fabricated AK-47 rifle inside a sack.
Hassan said two individuals who attempted to collect the package in Gusau were arrested.
They were identified as Abdulmumin Sani and Naziru Musa. Both are currently in custody and will be arraigned after the completion of investigations.
Commending the operatives, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, said the operations highlight the Command’s renewed efforts to curb insecurity.
