Police Arrest Three Key Financiers of Lakurawa Bandits.

Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended three suspected financiers and informants linked to the notorious Lakurawa bandit group, among them Ruwa Ginyo, the recognised Fulani head (Sarkin Fulani) of Gidan-Madi community in Tangaza Local Government Area.

The trio were arrested on Tuesday, 3 December 2025, around 2:00 p.m. while allegedly trying to sell four rustled cows to innocent buyers in a local market.

Preliminary investigation showed that the suspects specialise in disposing of cattle stolen by the bandits and transferring the proceeds back to the terror group, thereby sustaining their criminal operations.

All three suspects have confessed to the crime. Police say interrogations are continuing in order to dismantle the wider financing network and recover more stolen livestock.
